Collie – Your Honest Friend with Mild Temper
When I talk about pets with my friends, I often tell them that for large breeds, Collie is one of my favorite breeds. I like their color, personality and shape.
Collie is a kind of pets which is very thoughtful for its master and its alert, intelligent and diligent features make Collie a favorable pet for human being and people usually regard Collie as their close friend. Collies are also the animal film stars in many famous movies. It is always the honesty friend which can help people guard their sheep, thus Collie is also called shepherd dog.
Collie belongs to the large breed and it has a small head with long and sharp snout and mouth. Its eyes are full of passion and alert, and you will feel secure when a Collie is with you. Even it is in a large size, you don’t have to be afraid of this large dog because Collie has a good temper and it is happy when you show tender care for it. But it will be very fierce when Collie meets a bad person. Men sometimes can’t distinguish good person from bad person but dogs always have the strong discernment. Collie is different from some pet dogs such as Chihuahua and Pomeranian which are only pets, and Collie is a practical pet that can guard your house.
Collies have different colors and I haven’t seen a pure Collie so far. They can be brown and white, or black, brown and white. We often see the brown and white ones. When I first see the Collie puppies, I can’t image these little dogs would grow up to the large shepherd dog! They have similar appearances with other ordinary dogs and they are really cute. But when they grow up, we can’t use the word “cute”, and to be more precisely, “honest” would be the most suitable word to describe Collies.
(If you are scrupulous enough, when you look at these pictures upside down, you will find they are the different stages in Collie’s life.)
Tips: It is a meticulous work to raise Collie. As a large breed, Collies need more nutrition than the small breeds to support its growth. The best way is to add some meat into its diet.
